The list below represents the full spectrum of information you should know before setting out your temporary signage and lifting some of that mystery by detailing 6 of the most commonly used signage options.

6 commonly used temporary signage configurations you must know!

1)   The Multi

12 by 3 corflute signs measure 1200mm wide by 300mm high. Made from corflute, the light wight durable material is laminated with a printed class 1 reflective overlay. These signs are commonly mounted in the lower section of a multi message frame . Or, if you want to get real fancy, some people use the multi messages frames with pivot legs.

2)   The Twin

12 by 6 coflute signs are the sames as the 12 by 3’s but measure 1200mm wide by 600mm high. These signs are commonly mounted in a twin message frame and used for temporary road works.

3)  The Slip over

6 by 6 coflute signs measure 600mm wide by 600mm high. Made from corflute, the light wight durable material is laminated with a printed class 1 reflective overlay. These signs are commonly mounted in the side section of a twin or multi message frame and used for temporary road works. Alternatively, these signs can be “slitted” horizontally and mounted on a guide post.

4)  The Swing Stand

9 by 6 swing stand signs measure 900mm wide by 600mm high. Made from flat metal sheet, the material is laminated with a printed class 1 reflective overlay. Mounted on a swing stand, they are best used for temporary road works.

5)   The Small BEP 9 by 6 BEP

9 by 6 BEP signs measure 900mm wide by 600mm high. Made from flat metal sheet, the edge of the metal sign is folded 3 times to create a box around the edge of the sign. The sign facing is a printed class 1 reflective overlay. These signs are best used for temporary road works and mounted on Bi-Pod Sign Supports.

6)  The Large BEP

12 by 6 BEP signs are the sames as the 9 by 6’s but measure 1200mm wide by 600mm high. These signs are perfect for long-term road works spanding over a couple of months as BEP signs are more heavy duty than the corflute signs.

By blog No Comments
Between 2014 and 2015, the number of students enrolled in schools in Australia grew by 56,872 (1.5%) to a total of 3,750,973. Have your enrolments increased too? Publicity is what counts when it comes to student enrolment. Here’s 5 ways this powerful product will ensure Your School keeps ahead of the pack.

1.Increase Enrolments

It’s about that time of year again. New enrolments are churning in and teachers are working overtime while excited students plan end-of-year parties.

Knowing the organised operation, you run at Your School you’ve probably already got your enrolment banner tied on the school’s front fence. But, how is it holding up? Banners are subject to vandals, inclement weather and with the Spring winds it’s probably more of a hindrance than a help.

We’ve got a solution for you.  Purchase your very own VMS board and customise your message to ensure you’re not overlooked

2. Stimulate Parent Involvement

Have you ever noticed that students with parents who are involved in their school tend to have fewer behavioural problems and better academic performance?  Lack of parental involvement may not always be intentional. Missed parent teacher interviews, football finals and the like, are often a result of mis-information and unawareness.  Promote special dates, events, football games, fetes, etc on your VMS Board and you’ll be sure to stimulate parent involvement. It’s hard to resist colourful flashing lights when its message has your child at heart!

3.Save Dollars

When was the last time you ordered a 2550mm x 1710mm 5 coloured sign for a school event?  Perhaps you haven’t ever. That’s fine. 3 Tools Everyone In Traffic Control Should Be Using

By blog No Comments

Between 2009 – 2014, 12 workers died from being hit or trapped by mobile plant and 900 accepted workers’ compensation claims for serious injuries in Queensland alone.

Between 2009 – 2014, 12 workers died from being hit or trapped by mobile plant and 900 accepted workers’ compensation claims for serious injuries in Queensland alone. Don’t let this happen in your workplace. Planning is the first step to ensure work is done safely. Use these 3 powerful tools to ensure you and your crew get home safely.

1. Portable traffic lights – Barrowlight

Plan to take your guys off the road. Minimize traffic controller exposure to vehicles by replacing stop/slow controllers with a set of Barrowlights (portable traffic lights).

Traditionally stop/slow controllers have been used to slow traffic for roadwork zones where the contractor’s budget is too lean to hire or purchase a set of portable traffic lights. Or, the job has to be “knocked over in half a day” and the contractor simply doesn’t have time to arrange an external traffic control company to manage traffic. The Barrowlight is the perfect solution.  It’s reliable, efficient, durable, practical and awfully smart.

2.  Onsite Traffic Management Self-assessment Tool

Each worksite is completely different, so don’t just think that you can roll out the same old TMP and “she’ll be right”. No. We’re dealing with lives now, so fasten on your responsible hat low and tight.  Here’s a tool that will assist you in reviewing the effectiveness and adequacy of your existing risk management approach for vehicle and mobile plant traffic movements. It will also help generate ideas and opportunities to improve your practice

3. Printed Safety Vests

Who’s Who in the Zoo? Traffic controllers have authority to direct motorists whereas other road workers do not. It’s good practice for traffic controllers to be distinguished from other road workers at the site. Having the person clearly denoted as a traffic controller is beneficial. In the case of a trainee traffic controller, alternative / additional words such

as: “TRAINEE” or “TRAFFIC CONTROLLER TRAINEE” may be printed on the garment.
